OHC has been servicing the
GSA Southeastern United States Regions for the past 11 years for the Tampa
and Jacksonville districts. This contract is very similar to the proposed
contract. OHC is on contract on as needed basis to respond to any IAQ
issues for all the buildings owned or managed by GSA throughout the
Northern region of Florida. GSA has requested that OHC maintains a
response team especially trained for emergency response to biological
warfare type agents. OHC maintains all the necessary equipment and
training to respond to any such attacks.
OHC has performed various types of indoor air quality investigations for GSA
including initial preliminary screenings, limited and full IAQ surveys, HVAC
remediation and retrofitting and testing for various biological agents
including Anthrax.
Some of these investigations have been initiated on an emergency basis,
requiring swift response to building occupant complaints. OHC has been able
to respond quickly to the concerns of building occupants and has provided
crucial information to GSA management and has provided information to
concerned personnel, thereby quelling their concerns. Many of these IAQ
surveys have been high profile in nature.
OHC
has responded to several pipe bursting incidents at the Federal court house
releasing thousands of gallons of water into several floors of the building.
OHC was able to develop a remediation plan and secure the services of a
remediation contractor within 24 hours. OHC and the contractor staff worked
on a 24 hour basis to extract the water from the building as soon as
possible. Any non salvageable building material or furnishing was
immediately removed from the building for disposal. The remaining material
was dried out using dehumidifiers and blowers running continuously. Upon
completely drying all the building material, OHC conducted moisture testing
to ensure that the material is dry followed by some biological air, bulk and
swipe samples to confirm that the remediation and cleaning activities were
successful.
